Valentine's Day

We decided to forgo the crowds and endless wait for dinner this year and try something new.

I think it should become a tradition... it was heavenly.

We went to the Soloman Center in Ogden at The Megaplex.

They have a dinner and movie night, all in one location, no lines or waiting, everything for one price, prepaid, so all you do is show up.

We had a catered dinner, massages, chocolates, roses, popcorn, and drinks that were all included.

Not to mention the fabulous friends we were able to go with!

Great night...

Thanks to my sweetheart for a FANTASTIC date!

Christmas 09

I think this will be the most pathetic Christmas post EVER.
Christmas was rough this year... for many reasons, and I slacked in the photo department. (to say the least)

With Aunt Karen's Cancer fight coming to an end, I look back on this season and I am grateful for what I have learned and for the spirit that has been with me. I have never before had such a Christmas season that I have felt the love and support of my Savior. So yes, we had Santa, and parties, and presents, and the kids did not go without, but the most important things that were present in the Bodily home and heart this year could not have been photographed anyway.
I learned during this month of December... that all this worldly stuff and hype is not important.
Next year (or in 10 years) I will not remember what was under the tree, or what my neighbor's gifts were, or what party we were at and what activities we did...
... but I will remember those I love...
... how they make me feel...
... and the relationships I have with them...

Halloween

Trunk or Treat 09

We were in charge of Halloween celebrations this year for Bothwell. We decided on a lighted maze in the park. I think it turned out great and the kids seemed to like it and have fun! We also had a backdrop for pictures and then we just emailed them out to everyone. It was fairly easy with easy clean up! I love fall and the decor... I just wish winter didn't have to follow!

For Halloween this year the kids were....

Kristian was a Pirate

Kassie a Mad Hatter

Kambree a Witch

Gage was Spiderman

Bothwell 24th Celebration

We had a great weekend of celebrating our pioneer heritage...
BOTHWELL STYLE!
Cory and I were recently called to serve as the ward's Services and Activities Chairmen. Which meant we were in charge of this huge event, but it was planned and assigned out carefully, and it really wasn't too much work. Everyone just does their part, and it all comes together.

After the big dinner, is the much anticipated rodeo.... and the kids had a BLAST! Above you can see Kassie on the right in the green shirt, getting ready for the kids Tug of War.

Kambree really surprised me with wanting to ride a sheep. I had asked earlier in the day, and got a resounding NO from all of the kids, so when she asked, I was surprised, but said okay. Obviously the flip flops weren't a great idea... but hey, she had fun! Landed face first in the dirt, but came up smiling, and no tears!

Kassie also participated in the kids barrel race (top, far right) and the boot race.

This is the only picture I have of Cory and I... proof that we really were there, just busy. I didn't take one photo! That is rare! Thanks Dad for being the photographer!

4th of July

I thoroughly enjoyed the 4th of July this year...
it is typically not a holiday that I am really excited about...
but this year, we had alot of fun with family and friends, and it leaves me looking forward to the 4th next year!

We attended the West Point festivities with my family. The kids had a blast, with good food, face painting, playing on the park toys, blow up slides, and bounce houses, cotton candy, running around with no shoes on, fireworks and the parade. (I say no shoes... because you should have seen the bottom of their feet! Ick!)

We BBQ'd with friends and lit our own fireworks the next night. It was just HAPPINESS.

Memorial Weekend

We spent Memorial Weekend in St. George this year.....
had alot of fun with the kids, and the weather was great....
but I came home feeling a bit.... guilty, I guess is a word you could use...
Vacation purposes are not really the reason for the holiday... and the past 2 years we have used it for such.
I have missed out on the tradition of a family breakfast with my Dad's sister and her family.... and not to mention the opportunity to pay respect for those who have served us and those loved ones who have passed on before.
I still visited Cory's dad's grave, and our grandparents.... placed a flower arrangement, etc.... but not with the kids, nor with Cory. I missed that visit as a family....... next year I hope I can look back on this post, and remember how I felt, and make a choice that might make me feel a little better about the holiday in the week following.
However, we still had a wonderful time spent together as a family.... visiting the Johnson Dinosaur Park, Miniature Golfing, Tons of Swimming, and the new Night At The Museum 2 movie that was released. You can never go wrong with family time.... but maybe next time we'll choose to spend that time a little differently.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was spent at home.... nice and quiet and together as a family.
After a great morning at church, we had lunch, naps, and played outside in the warm sunshine!
(Whewww.... I haven't jumped on the trampoline for a while! What a workout! :D)

gotta love that bunny..... he always knows what to get! Just look at those smiles!

Giving Thanks.....

Our Thanksgiving was simply wonderful. I love it, and it's the perfect kick off for Christmas.... First we get to give thanks for all that we have been blessed with and then we get to SHOW him how thankful we are the whole month of December! We were lucky enough to have both sets of Grandparents at our house this year. When Kassie came home from school on Wednesday, I told her I needed her help getting the house ready. She jumped right in and did her weekly chores and cleaned her bathroom. And then I came out to find she had set the table! Not what I had planned, but that's okay..... we couldn't burst her bubble.... and she did a great job! Hope your holiday was just as great!

Preschool Thanksgiving

Kambree had her Thanksgiving "feast" at preschool today.
She was so excited.
It was best dress, and she picked out her dress.
Kambree made this turkey in school last week, and brought it home to work on her manners and I was supposed to keep a close eye out and write down when she used her good manners and write them on a feather.... she then took it back today to share with the class.
Being "Silly Kambree" I wanted to post how long her hair is getting. She wants to cut it, because she thinks if she does she can get an American Girl doll like Kassie. (Kassie got the "Kit Kitredge" doll because they had the same hairstyle at the time) I have tried to explain that you don't have to have the same hairstyle as your doll, but she's just not getting it.

Anyway, Mom is protesting because I think it looks so pretty long, blonde, and beautiful!

One of The BEST Days of the Year

I look forward to this day all year. One of my most favorite Family Traditions.....
Pumkin Carving with the Larsen's.

The Larsen's are my Dad's sister Karen and her family.

Love them all so freakin much,

and we don't get to see them enough so I just love this night and really look forward to it. We really missed those who couldn't be there...... (Austin & Nicole..... Jeremey & Chelsea..... Joe....... Aaron & Amy..... Kristian) It was a lot of fun, but it's getting harder and harder to keep all the kids straight..... there's getting to be so many of them! :D
