Til we meet again...

I got this email from my aunt, and I loved it so much. It sums up alot of my thoughts this week. I will miss him as our prophet, but know he is happy, and there is much rejoicing going on the other side of the veil. May we never forget how he touched our lives! Prophetic Passing I imagine he's running to Marjorie now, Yes, running, not waving his cane. I see him embracing his father and mother While they keep repeating his name. I see him now meeting his forebears, Brother Brigham and Joseph are there. Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service That only such noble men share. I see him embraced by the Savior While Father says, "Good and well done. So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome My noble, most excellent son." I then hear the ripples of laughter As he says the reception's just fine, But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two Since there's no need to waste any time. I can hear his clear voice in the stillness At the close of this sweet Sabbath day, Have faith and move forward — there's work to be done. President Hinckley would want it that way. Anna M. Keeping my family safe....

I truly love this form of sharing pictures, thoughts, experiences, and joy with family and friends. However, I have also been awakened to the dangers, and downsides of the internet. Therefore, I have decided to make this a "private" blog. In other words, it is by invitation only. If you are reading this, you have already been invited to read and share comments. I am asking that you respect my families privacy, and our desire to keep them safe, so I would ask you not to share any links, or allow anyone who is not invited to view. If they are interested, please have them contact me or Cory directly for access, so we can keep track of those who are viewing our private life. Thanks! We love you all!

Hannah Montana Pictures....

This was taken with Kristian's camera she got for christmas. Not the best quality, but okay for an 11 year old. I forgot to charge mine, and after 2 pictures the battery died, so we were stuck with kristian's. As soon as you zoom at all, it is a little grainy. We had so much fun, and it was so worth it! I would recommend this for next year's tour if your girls are at all interested in Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus. We joined the fan club in November, it costs $30 for the year, and you get a welcome packet with "goodies" and then some perks that are totally worth it! I will try and do a slide show with all the other pictures for anyone who is interested. We have quite a few, and some would show more detail.

This is how she made her entrance as Hannah Montana. This box was lowered from the ceiling and then opened up when she got down to the stage. Her first song was Rockstar.
Waiting for the concert to start. We had seats that were about 5 rows up, directly across from the stage. We were happy with them, and could see really well.
In front of Miley's tour bus. While we were standing out there, her little sister kept opening one of the windows and throwing out pixy sticks to everyone.
This was at the Miley World Party before the show. Miley World is the name of her fan club. That is how we were able to purchase the tickets, on a presale, before they were available to the public, and then you are invited to the fan club party before the show.

It's only going to get worse....

.....I am afraid. Kassie has had this nagging cough for a couple of weeks. A few days ago she started complaining that it was starting to "burn" her chest when she coughed, so I decided I better take her in to make sure she didn't have bronchitis. I made her appt for Saturday am. During the night, friday night, she came in to me with a 103.7 fever, and said she was just "achy" all over. I thought, well at least you have a doctor appt in the morning. I was thinking, maybe just strep or bronchitis. No such luck there. Yep, she has Influenza B. They have mostly seen Influenza A, but we always have to be different, and get the out of the ordinary thing. She has been doing okay, as long as we keep up on the tylenol and motrin. I hope we didn't expose any family and friends. I think we lucked out having the appt so soon, but I am afraid it's only going to get worse because the other kids will most likely get it. Kassie has to stay home from school for a whole week. So the Bodily's are under quarantine!!

Blessed Friends.....

I have been struggling lately with a problem of one of my friends and have been giving it alot of thought. It always seems to help to write it down and get it out so this is my attempt to do so. She had a friend who she "offended" without knowing and would have never done so intentionally. I am sure we have all been in this position before, I know I have. I seem to usually speak before I think it through, and end up saying something I shouldn't or say it in a way that can be taken wrong. Today, I have been thinking of a talk from General Conference that we had a lesson on in RS this past year. It was titled "And Nothing Shall Offend Them" by David A. Bednar Nov. 2006. There is a particular paragraph I would like to share..... "when we believe or say we have been offended, we usually mean we feel insulted, mistreated, snubbed, or disrespected. And certainly clumsy, embarrassing, unprincipled, and mean-spirited things do occur in our interactions with other people that would allow us to take offense. However, it ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else." I for one am usually not easily "offended". In other words it takes alot to hurt my feelings. With that being said, I believe that can not be a good combination for others who usually do get their feelings hurt more easily. Let me tell you why I think so.... I would probably do or say some things that I for one don't think is bad or hurtful, but for someone else, it might be. We all have our agency, it is something our Father in Heaven has blessed us with. It is our choice on how we respond or act to any given situation. When we believe that someone else has that power over us, does that not diminish our moral agency? If we are blessed enough to have friends, and we openly call them such, why would we believe they would intentionally do something to hurt us? Why would anything in a typical conversation, or something that happens in everyday life make us jump to the conclusion that they intentionally wanted us to feel bad? One of my all time favorite quotes is by Eleanor Roosevelt... "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Does that not also go along with this subject? I think so. I think that when we are more easily offended, or tend to get our feelings hurt more easily, it stems from the problem that alot of us women have, and that is our feeling inferior to those around us; essentially our friends. There are a few members of my ward/community who feel like they are not included or feel left out of certain activities/parties/events etc... I for one enjoy the friends I have made here, and have enjoyed ALL of their company. Sure, there might be some to whom we have better relationships, and tend to do more with, but we are never exclusive! If you ever hear of anything we are doing, or participating in and would like to also.... Call me! I can't make 50 phone calls of personal invites every time we decide to do something, so call! We are always wanting to get to know others better. And if you are one of those who are feeling left out or not included in things.... I am sure you are not alone! Invite some couples over, go out to dinner, do whatever it takes to get the ball rolling. I know there are those who worry that if they do, they will hurt or offend someone else they did not include, but you are only depriving yourself and alienating yourself from those friendships! My whole reason for this post is to tell my friends I LOVE YOU! Thanks for being my friends in spite of myself! Thanks for loving me despite my faults. And if I have ever said or done anything to hurt or "offend" you, I am so sorry. For if you are my friend I would never want to hurt you. (Even someone who hasn't been a friend, I wouldn't want to hurt...... unless you call my house at midnight to tell Cory your boiler is working now, but you still don't want your house to get cold during the night, so can he stop by in the morning. Then I might have to hurt you. (true story)) I have been so blessed with great friends! My patriarchal blessing tells me I would be blessed with friends who would "bless and uplift you". That is so true! Thanks for the blessing you are in my life, and the way you uplift me!

Hannah Montana Fans......

well we just got home tonight from Las Vegas where we took Kristian and Kassie to the Hannah Montana concert at the MGM Grand Hotel. We all had so much fun, (yes, even Cory admits he had fun and she can actually sing, and puts on a good concert!) I was all set to post the pictures we took and tell about some of the things we did with the girls, and I connected the camera to the computer, it started to upload, and then this message appears on the screen that says there is not sufficient space on the hard drive for this file! I knew it was coming...... but now I really have to deal with it! It might take me a while to get it cleaned up, so I guess we'll all just have to wait to see them. I know, you are very disappointed.......so sorry!

The Ultimate Clean-out......

Okay so I am going to be brave and show you how much crap I cleaned out of our "treat" cupboard a couple of days ago. I still can't believe it all fit in this little cupboard, but it did, as you can see I don't think the garbage bag could hold any more either! Disgusting!
I should have taken a before picture, but the after looks sooooo much better. Stuff no longer falls out at you when you open the door!
I still need some more tupperware to finish organizing it......does anyone know where I could get some? :0) HA HA!

I've Been Tagged!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player answers the questions about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. 10 years ago: I was working full time at Mountain View Eye Center and loving it. Resolutions.....

I am never really one who makes those common "New Year's Resolutions". I mean why set myself up for failure? Do I set goals? yes. But I don't know why I think there is this stygma with the New Year's resolution that makes me think that it really won't happen. I am always thinking and trying to improve on something....... but I don't necessarily say that it has to be perfected this year. I don't know.... maybe I have the wrong attitude about it. So with that being said.... Cory and I are currently working on......... 1. More frequent Scripture Study. 2. More frequent temple attendance. (anyone interested in a friday night date to the temple and dinner.....let me know) 3. Exercise/working out M-TH. There you have it..... not really too exciting, but maybe if everyone knows and makes comments when I run into them, it will keep them fresh in my mind at all times and I will do even better. You never know..... miracles have happened before!
