RSL Game

My Sister Ashley called earlier in the week and had 3 extra tickets to a Real (Ray-al) Salt Lake Soccer Game....
I got right on that opportunity and taking our little soccer girl was a "no brainer".

Kassie loved the game, and watched the whole thing, beginning to end.... never seemed to get tired of it.

Kassie and Connor

Kassie, Ashley, Kalli, and Matt.

We had a great time! Thanks Matt & Ashley for some GREAT tickets!

3 and a HALF!

Gage has an unfortunate Birthday.... December 26th! So for now, until he is old enough to decide for himself, we give him his Birthday gifts on his "half Birthday" which falls on June 26th. This year, I wasn't the best at snapping those photos, but I did get a couple....

Since birth we have called him "Gator".... and Grandma Caroll found him this shirt that was just perfect for him!

He got to go to the store and pick out a toy.... and he came home with a Cement Truck. Needless to say, he LOVES it!

He also got a new swimming pool, some much needed wrangler jeans, a gun and holster set, a Bumblee Transformer, and some sand toys. All in all, he thought it was great and he got to open some presents other than at Christmas!

and so it begins....

... the "Teenage Years"!
Kristian turned 13 today... so it is official... we now have a TEENAGER in the house!
She and I took off and had a fun day of nails, Lunch, and shopping.
We came home to dinner thanks to Grandma Caroll, and then we had Cake with the grandparents before she was off to Young Women's.
(Tomorrow is "Hair appointment day"... she's going for more blonde!)

She got a cute new orange kitten from her friend Afton.... which still does not have a name! :D

She loves to read.. and is always packing her book around "just in case".... and always reading in the car. Hmmmm, wonder where she gets that from? (At least I passed on one GOOD habit to her!)

What an amazing girl... I am so lucky to be able to be her mom and to call her my friend. She is a great example to me, always kind and compassionate, a peacemaker, and generally very happy person to be around. Loves music, reading, kittens, spending time with friends, camping, scrapbooking, and organizing anything! (not to mention she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!!! We Love You!!

Gymnastics Spring Show

The girls had their Gymnastics Spring Show on June 6th.
It was held at the Bear River High Auditorium... and needless to say it was a big place, and we were not very close to get any good pics,
but Kassie and Kambree did a great job!

I have noticed improvements in them this last year, and they really enjoyed their classes. Kambree's class was a combination mini-cheer and she really liked that part of it too.

Be Still My Soul

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOus45dorPU I was "in the mood" for this song today.... Did a youtube search and lo and behold this version by Nicol Sponberg was there. She has been a favorite of mine for about a year now, love her voice, and I have followed her blog since the passing of her son. Then the Irony.... her 2 month old infant son that she lost to SIDS just so happened to leave this earth 1 year ago today. I think she needed this song today more than I. My daily dose of a reality check............

Memorial Weekend

We spent Memorial Weekend in St. George this year.....
had alot of fun with the kids, and the weather was great....
but I came home feeling a bit.... guilty, I guess is a word you could use...
Vacation purposes are not really the reason for the holiday... and the past 2 years we have used it for such.
I have missed out on the tradition of a family breakfast with my Dad's sister and her family.... and not to mention the opportunity to pay respect for those who have served us and those loved ones who have passed on before.
I still visited Cory's dad's grave, and our grandparents.... placed a flower arrangement, etc.... but not with the kids, nor with Cory. I missed that visit as a family....... next year I hope I can look back on this post, and remember how I felt, and make a choice that might make me feel a little better about the holiday in the week following.
However, we still had a wonderful time spent together as a family.... visiting the Johnson Dinosaur Park, Miniature Golfing, Tons of Swimming, and the new Night At The Museum 2 movie that was released. You can never go wrong with family time.... but maybe next time we'll choose to spend that time a little differently.
